Runner-up All England Open 2025 itu malah mendadak hilang fokus, banyak melakukan kesalahan, dan berujung kena balik serang sampai kehilangan beberapa angka beruntun.
Ganda putra Indonesia kalah dengan skor 21-18, 18-21, 14-21 dalam penampilan selama 67 menit yang berakhir antiklimaks.
“Sangat kurang bagus,” kata Bagas seusai laga kepada awak media termasuk BolaSport.com.
“Kami juga ya kecewa karena tidak bisa memberi kemenangan di Indonesia Open dan juga musuh sangat bagus. mereka tadi jarang mati sendiri.”
“Sedangkan kami malah melakukan kesalahan, sedikit-sedikit mudah mati sendiri,” tambah Bagas menyesali.
Servis tipis dari Leo yang membuat kok meliuk-liuk, alias tumble serve, sebenarnya sudah dapat menyulitkan Rankireddy/Shetty.
Beberapa kali mantan ganda putra nomor satu dunia itu sering gagal mengantisipasi servis Leo dan jadi keran angka bagi wakil Merah Putih.
Smes mereka juga berhasil menembus pertahanan lawan.
Namun, keadaan setelah interval di gim kedua menjadi titik balik bagaimana Leo/Bagas yang tadinya mendikte permainan, malah berbalik tertekan.
Dari unggul 12-9, mereka dikunci di angka 12 sampai berbalik tertinggal 12-17.
Menurut Leo, serangan mereka mulai terbaca lawan dengan kondisi mereka sendiri tidak siap menerapkan strategi pengganti.
“Mungkin pola kami jadi bumerang sendiri,” jelas Leo.
“Mereka seperti mengubah pola. Servis saya juga tidak bisa seperti gim pertama. Di gim kedua dan ketiga, servis saya sudah ditunggu,” tambahnya.
Bagas juga berpendapat sama, tiga pukulan pertama setelah servis berhasil dikendalikan pasangan India.
“Sudah ditunggu pembukaannya sama mereka. Jadi saya jaga di belakang kewalahan,” kata Bagas.
“Mereka sangat cepat dan bermain baik hari ini,” ucap dia.
Kekalahan Leo/Bagas mempertipis kans ganda putra Indonesia untuk mengakhiri paceklik gelar di Indonesia Open 2025.
Pasalnya, hanya tiga pasangan ganda putra yang mengikuti kompetisi BWF World Tour Super 1000 ini.
Sejauh ini baru satu pasangan yang sudah memesan tempat di babak 16 besar yaitu Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi isfahani.
Sedangkan satu pasangan lainnya yakni Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto baru akan bermain pada Rabu (4/6/2025) besok.
Fajar/Rian akan menghadapi lawan yang juga tidak mudah yaitu Daniel Lundgaard/Mads Vestergaard (Denmark).
